Download Rothwood Font Family From Type-Ø-Tones

Download Rothwood Font Family From Type-Ø-Tones In 2011, while tutoring an exercise on Slab Serifs, Josema discovered Robert Thorne’s work for Thorowgood. Specifically, he was fascinated by the extraordinary density of the 6-line Egyptian Pica from 1820-21. As a simple exercise, he wanted to test the limits of readability within the context of a contemporary alphabet. Rothwood Ultra is the result of this experiment. As a way of developing the series, he found it interesting to go to the opposite end of the spectrum and discover how to evolve the extra-black Ultra’s DNA into a super lightweight model. The Hairline and Thin styles are her slim sisters.  The third challenge has been the creation of the text version. Light, Book, DemiBold and Bold, including italics and Small Caps close the Rothwood cycle for editorial use. Download Rothwood Font Family From Type-Ø-Tones Download Now View Gallery

Download Mortise Font Family From Signal

Download Mortise Font Family From Signal To mortise is “to join or fasten securely.” Created by an aspiring furniture-maker and an ageing typographer, Mortise is a solidly constructed new slab serif, and marks Signal’s first collaboration with outside designers. A generous x-height, open counters, wide proportions, and monoline strokes make it readable and practical, while the long, slightly curved vertical serifs give it a raffish, mustache-twirling air. The X-Light is neat and refined and holds the page nicely; the middle weights are sturdy and direct; and the broad, blocky serifs on the X-Bold are exuberant and perhaps a bit rowdy. Available in six carefully crafted weights, Mortise is both a fresh new face and a versatile addition to the venerable slab serif genre. And, of course, it goes well with its sans sibling, Tenon . Download Vertical Font Family From Alias

Image
Download Vertical Font Family From Alias Alias Vertical is a sans serif typeface with a vertical cut-off point for letter endings. The vertical cut-offs bend round characters (b, c, o, etc) into a squarish, high-shouldered shape, suggesting Roger Excoffon’s Antique Olive. In mid-weights, the typeface mixes Antique Olive with typefaces such as Gill or Johnston, for example the shape of the t, the l borrowing Johnston’s flick. Vertical has the same minimal difference in weight between verticals and horizontals as Gill and Johnston, and the same sharp connection point where curves meet straight lines. Like Antique Olive, Vertical has a narrow connection point here, adding contrast and definition. The overall effect feels austere at lighter weights and strident and graphic at bolder weights, and sharp and incised throughout. In the Bold and Black weights, the squarish and top heavy shape of Antique Olive is most noticeable. For example the wid
